Stock powders are pure dried broth, what you would get if you boiled up meats with no seasonings, skimmed the fat and dried the result. As they are completely unseasoned, they should not be used as a replacement for bouillon. When using these products, know that they will be bland until plenty of salt, sugar and other seasonings are added. Stock powders may be used to boost the flavor of gravies or as a base for soups and stews. Use 2-4 Tbs. per quart to make plain stock.

I have been using this for several years because I eat no gluten but I have recently bought it for my parents because they have to eat no salt. It is wonderful and far less expensive than buy broth or stock every time you need it. I highly recommend it.
